AV Jewelries was founded from a lifelong love for Portugal, its traditions, and the timeless beauty of Portuguese jewelry.
I was born in Lisbon, Portugal, and my father is from Lisbon, while my mother is from Braga, in the north of the country. Growing up with influences from both regions gave me a deep appreciation for the richness of Portuguese culture.

Where My Passion Began
My passion for jewelry began long before I started this business. In 1989, my very first job was in a jewelry store, where I learned to appreciate not only the beauty of each piece but also the craftsmanship, dedication, and meaning behind fine jewelry.
That experience stayed with me and planted the seed for what would one day become AV Jewelries.
The Birth of AV Jewelries
After moving to California, I saw how meaningful it was for Portuguese families to stay connected to their roots. I wanted to create a place where they could find jewelry that celebrated their heritage, while also introducing the beauty of Portuguese craftsmanship to those discovering it for the first time.
I began researching Portuguese jewelry manufacturers and artisans, building relationships through online conversations and meetings with trusted partners across Portugal.
Today, AV Jewelries brings together carefully selected collections from several Portuguese manufacturers, offering meaningful pieces that celebrate our traditions, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage.
